Now, I won’t be before you long, but it is that time! The time where we all gather with loved ones to celebrate our many blessings and usher out the old for the new. Honestly, the holiday season is one of my favorite yet most stressful times of the year. The issue is always gift-giving, people asking what to get you, you stressing over what to get others, it becomes so cumbersome and takes away from the true joy of the season.
About 2 years ago, I decided enough was enough. I wanted to be happy around the holidays, and do something that would also spread joy to others less fortunate than me.
So I got together with one of my favorite humans on earth, my cousin, and decided to do ‘Homeless Care Kits’ for the holidays. In a city full of beauty and experience, Chicago has a large homeless population here in dire need of assistance. There are reports that over 6,000 people in the city of Chicago are homeless; With a quick emphasis on reported, as often times, it is hard for census workers and statisticians to get in touch with or keep up with the ever-changing populous.
Through these kits, we want to provide just a little comfort during the holidays for those in need. Historically, we have purchased the key toiletries, survival tools, and food stock items for the kits out of our own pockets. However, in the last year, we’ve noticed there are a lot more people who want to get involved in the creation of the kits, and we want to make sure we are giving our very best to those in need.
In an effort to get as many people involved as possible, I created an Amazon Wishlist of the bulk items we would need for the kits. If you want to get involved, simply click through to the link, select and purchase the items you would like to donate, and it will deliver directly to me for the kits. Our goal this year is to do between 50-100 care kits. If you would like to donate, please visit the link below.

We can also use hands to hand out the kits! We typically go on foot between December 23 - 24th. If you would like to help, please let me know!
Thanks to all, and looking forward to making a positive impact this holiday season!
